Page history last edited by Eric Leonidas 12 years, 1 month ago

Instructions:

On the new page write out the following (be sure to number the sections):

    1. A short summary of the passage
    2. A short explanation of why you think the passage is important to the larger work
    3. Some account of how the passage produces it's meaning. In other words what choices has Milton made: diction (vocabulary); rhetorical figures; sound effects; rhythm and meter; etc.? Most importantly, how are do these work to convey the sense of the passage?
    4. At least two discussion questions you think the passage raises.

The webpage must be complete by the day listed with the passage. On that day, in class, you will briefly summarize the work of the first few bullet points, all with the purpose of asking two of your questions and soliciting responses from the class.
